The Genetic Resolution and Assessments Solving Phenotypes in LGMD (GRASP-LGMD) consortium was created in 2018 and currently includes 12 sites in the United States and European Union. The overarching mission of the GRASP-LGMD consortium is to hasten therapeutic development in the LGMDs.

Virginia Commonwealth University serves as the central coordinating site for the consortium, under the direction of Dr. Nicholas Johnson. Dr. Jeffrey Statland, Kansas University Medical Center, serves as the clinical research liaison. The biorepository is under the direction of Dr. Conrad “Chris” Weihl at Washington University in St. Louis.

Consortium Coordinators, Ruby Langeslay and Jennifer Raymond, work at Virginia Commonwealth University on behalf of the GRASP LGMD consortium. They serve to oversee study conduct at all sites, providing support and guidance to the site study teams.
